About the project

In 2022 severe weather during a natural disaster event caused significant damage to this pedestrian beach access path and stairs. As a result, scouring (coastal erosion) has begun to undermine these beach access stairs.

The recent approval for Commonwealth disaster recovery funding marks a key milestone in council's efforts to repair damages and restore robust functionality to this beach access asset. Communication and progress tracking will be maintained to keep all stakeholders informed through the repair process.

2024 Works history

25/3/2024 - Council recently secured funding approval to repair this beach access asset after significant damage caused by a declared natural disaster in 2022. Council is working to engage qualified contractors to carry out the necessary reconstruction and repair work.
