Privacy and Personal information Protection Act 1998 (NSW)

Under the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (NSW), the Shoalhaven City Council is required to comply with the Mandatory Data Breach Notification Scheme. This scheme necessitates that the Council maintain a public register of notifications for eligible data breaches.

The register will include notifications for eligible data breaches in instances where the Council is unable, or it is not reasonably practicable, to directly notify all affected individuals.
