Shoalhaven City Council is reminding drivers to refresh their knowledge of the road rules for roundabouts to help prevent crashes and deaths on local roads.

Roundabouts are ranked as number one in the top 10 misunderstood road rules in NSW.

Shoalhaven City Council Manager Technical Services Craig Exton is encouraging Shoalhaven drivers to take a few minutes to update themselves on the road rules for roundabouts.

“Roundabouts are everywhere across the Shoalhaven and with an expected increase in holiday makers visiting the region in the coming months, it’s important we all stay up to date with the road rules”, Mr. Exton said.

“For all drivers, keeping up to date with the road rules is important, and when it comes to roundabouts there can be confusion. That is why we are encouraging every driver to refresh their knowledge”, Mr. Exton said.

In partnership with Transport for NSW, Council is encouraging drivers to watch a short animation video that explains the road rules for roundabouts.

Community members can also find these rules by reading the Top 10 misunderstood road rules brochure online on the NSW Centre for Road Safety website
