A ‘deputation’ is when a person, or a representative of a group of people, appears personally to address Council at an Ordinary meeting on a specific matter listed on the agenda for that meeting: Agendas & Minutes
When applying to make a deputation, you will be asked to advise which agenda item you are speaking to and whether you are speaking 'FOR' or 'AGAINST' the recommendation contained in the report. The rules regarding deputations at Council meetings are outline at part 4 of the Code of Meeting Practice.
All written or electronic presentations to be displayed at the meeting must be emailed to the Governance Team no later than 12.00pm on the day of the meeting.
Legal representatives acting on behalf of others are not to be permitted to submit a request to make a deputation at a Council meeting unless they identify their status as a legal representative when applying to speak.
Upcoming meetings are listed on our upcoming meetings page. Agendas for upcoming meetings are listed on the agendas and minutes page.
