Illaroo Road - Bangalee - Pavement Repair

02/06/2025 - Tree removal and underground service locating works are continuing on Illaroo Road. In addition, watermain relocation and adjustment works have now commenced. Shoalwater will provide further notice to affected residents regarding any interruptions to water supply when connections to the existing watermains are scheduled in the coming weeks.

19/05/2025 - Tree removal works are scheduled to commence this week and are expected to take approximately three weeks to complete, weather permitting. Trees marked with a red dot are marked for removal. Trees marked with a green dot are being retained. Works to positively identify underground services will also be carried out. Traffic control will be in place, and delays may occur.

05/05/2025 – Tree removal works are scheduled to commence 19th May 2025 and will take approximately 3 weeks to complete. Traffic control will be in place when tree removal work is being undertaken, and delays may occur.

07/04/2025 - Starting mid-May 2025, road rehabilitation works will commence on Illaroo Rd from Karana Dr to 115m east of Tapitallee Rd. The project will take approximately six months, weather permitting. Initial works include tree removal, service locating, and watermain adjustments. Traffic control will be in place, and some delays may occur.

18/03/2025 - Tenders for construction have been received and will be reported to Council at its meeting on 25 March 2025. Following Council adoption, the successful contractor will be notified. Works expected to commence in early May 2025.

6/11/2024 - Council has successfully obtained grant funding through the Infrastructure Betterment Fund (IBF) and Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) for proposed betterment works on Illaroo Road.

2/10/2024 - The detailed design for the pavement repair project on Illaroo Road from West Cambewarra Road to Tapitallee Road is done. The works will be Tendered for construction.

29/7/2024 - The detailed design for the pavement repair project on Illaroo Road from West Cambewarra Rd to Browns Mountain Rd is nearing completion. Works are expected to be Tendered for construction in late August 2024 following further services investigation and design. 

03/06/2024 - Council is continuing to carry out design works for the pavement repair scope from West Cambewarra Road to Browns Mountain Road.

21/03/2024 - Council is currently carrying out a geotechnical investigation and design works for the pavement repair scope from West Cambewarra Road to Browns Mountain Road.

01/11/2023 - Council has received Natural Disaster and Infrastructure Betterment funding to carry out pavement repair work on Illaroo Road. The repairs will take place from West Cambewarra Road to Browns Mountain Road. The design process is currently underway, and repairs are expected to be carried out in the new year, following design and tendering for construction.

25/05/23 - Ground investigations and pavement designs have been completed and submitted to Transport NSW. Tenders are ready for advertising pending Transport NSW approval.

24/03/2023 - Reconstruction and repair work will extend over approximately 9.5km and be predominantly characterised by two different treatment types.

Council is currently pending transport to approve the repair method before works can be tendered for construction. A temporary 60km/h speed zone and pothole warning signs have been installed to inform motorists the condition of the road.

At this stage it is expected to have the tender package advertised during the month of January 2023 with the works commencing as soon as possible after tenders are awarded. The likely earliest start date for the works at this stage is March 2023.

The tender package will form part of the Northern District Round 1 package which also plans to include.
