Council invites the community to take part in a Magical Mystery Waste Tour

Shoalhaven City Council will be offering residents the opportunity to take part in a Magical Mystery Waste Tour, with participants having the chance to visit a host of the area’s recycling and waste depots.

The free four hour tour will take place Wednesday 3 August as part of Local Government Week activities.

Tour participants will be provided with an opportunity to view the City’s recycling being sorted, discover the processes involved in dealing with e-waste and learn more about the landfill program.

Shoalhaven City Council Manager of Waste Services, David Hojem said many residents may not be aware that by committing to a household recycling program, your actions can have wide reaching positive ramifications.

“Even the smallest increases in household recycling will lead to a reduction in landfill waste burial and will place less pressure on our natural resources,” said Mr Hojem.

“I would encourage all interested residents to take part in Council’s upcoming Mystery Tour and take the opportunity to learn more about the recycling and waste process as well as handy tips on living a sustainable lifestyle.”

A limited number of seats are available and residents are asked to contact Waste Services on 4429 3129 for more information.

Shoalhaven City Council has a full list of activities taking place from Monday 1 August as part of Local Government Week.
