School holiday activities on offer this winter break

There are plenty of school holiday activities on offer across the Shoalhaven to keep the kids entertained this winter break.  

Shoalhaven Indoor Sports Centre    

From friendly matches to skill-building games, there's a range of indoor sports available for children of all ages at the Indoor Sports Centre in Bomaderry.  

There will also be jumping castles an interactive multi-ball screen as well as arts and crafts sessions.

Shoalhaven Regional Gallery 

The gallery in Nowra has a variety of art classes and workshops available during the holidays that will encourage children of all ages to explore their creativity.  

 

  • Mini Makers: art classes for children aged 4 and 5, Tuesday 15 July 10am-11am. 
  • Little Artists: drawing and sculpture class for children aged 6 to 8 years, Tuesday 15 July, 1pm-3pm
  • Artists for the day: A full day of art for children 8 to 12 years, Wednesday 16 July, 9.30am to 3pm. 
  • High School Painting: one day painting workshop for students 13 to 16 years, Thursday 17 July, 10am to 3pm.

Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre 

For children who love music and theatre, the timeless fairytale Cinderella will be coming to life on stage at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre this Winter.  

This spectacular show is a production of the Albatross Musical Theatre Company and is filled with Rodgers + Hammerstein's most-beloved songs, including "In My Own Little Corner", "Impossible" and "Ten Minutes Ago".

Shoalhaven Libraries 

There are a range of free events and activities on offer across all Council libraries in the Shoalhaven.   

  • Nowra and Sanctuary Point Libraries will host Naidoc Story Time on Monday 7 July from 10:30am-11am. Ulladulla Library’s Naidoc Stories to Share event will be held on Friday 11 July from 11am. Children are invited to watch Indigenous stories being read on the library big screen while making fun and easy crafts.  

  • Local author Michelle van Grinsven will read her beautiful picture book all about life in our bay at the Sanctuary Point Library on Tuesday 8 July between 10:30am and 11am. Places are limited, and bookings are essential.  

  • Children aged 6-10 years can explore new art techniques at a Magic Art workshop being held at the Ulladulla Library on Tuesday 8 July between 10:30am and 11am, the Sanctuary Point Library on Thursday 10 July from 10:30-11am and the Nowra Library on Wednesday 16 July from 2pm.  

  • Teddy Bear’s Picnic Day will be celebrated at the Nowra Library on Thursday 10 July between 11:00am and 12:00pm. Children aged 2-5 years can enjoy songs, books, and a take-home craft. Don’t forget to bring your teddies along for the fun.
