CURRENT WORKS

Bangalee

Koloona Drive Work will be undertaken on the bridge over Bengalee Creek, commencing on Thursday 20 July 2017. Expected completion is on Friday 21 July. These works will be undertaken under the bridge to strengthen it, enabling the load limit to be increased. The road will remain open. Berry

Beach Road - Full pavement rehabilitation of approximately 1.2km from Harley Hill Road to Toolijoola Road.  Pavement reconstruction and shoulder widening has been completed, with the line marking and lane delineation scheduled for the week commencing 31 July. Bomaderry

Bomaderry Lions Park – Drainage culvert upgrade works over the open drain at the South East corner of The Lions Park carpark. The gravel area to the East of the Bomaderry Oval will not be accessible for the duration of the project. Works are scheduled to be completed by 4 August 2017.  For further information, please contact the Northern District Office on 4429 3821.

Bomaderry / Bolong

Bolong Road - Roadworks have commenced on the widening of Bolong Road in the vicinity of Hanigans Lane and Jennings Lane. The works near Hanigans Lane are nearing completion with works now moving to east of Jennings Lane.  The projects are expected to be completed by September 2017. Coolangatta

Coolangatta Road and Bolong Road - Council have been working on the Coolangatta Road upgrade involving the widening and pavement strengthening of the last 1.3km on the eastern end. Water main relocation is currently being undertaken in conjunction with the roadworks. Works on the water main are expected to be completed in August weather permitting.  Works will then recommence on the upgrade of the Coolangatta Road and then Bolong Road intersection.  All works are expected to be completed by December weather permitting. Culburra Beach

Culburra Road – Stage 2 of Road pavement reconstruction and road widening. The extent of works will include the Coonemia Road intersection up to the recently completed stage 1 works. Spray sealing of stage 2 commenced and is scheduled to be completed of Thursday 20 July, with line marking expected to be completed 28 July.  For further information please contact the Roads Unit on 4406 2000.

Hyams Beach

Silver Strand Circuit – Widening the road shoulder and retaining the road verge along the southern edge of Silver Strand Circuit will be carried out to facilitate parallel parking adjacent the National Park. For further information please call 4406 2000.

Milton

Matron Porter Drive – Shared User Path Stage 3 from Frogs Holla Sports Grounds to Sungrove Lane (425m - 2.5m wide) is in progress.  For further information please call 4429 8902.

Mollymook

Mitchell Parade – Construction of the Shared User Pathway & Pedestrian Facilities is in progress. The shared user path on the eastern side of Mitchell Parade will be extended north to Beach Road terminating just beyond No.3 Beach Rd. Two pedestrian refuges will be constructed in Mitchell Parade, one approximately 75m south of Tallwood Ave and the other just south of the Beach Road intersection. Tallwood Avenue – The construction of a raised pedestrian crossing is in progress between Jones Ave and Carrol Ave along with widening of the existing footpath on southern side of Tallwood Ave from Mitchell Pde to the shops.  For further information please call 4429 8902.

Nowra

Stewart Place – Major works are now complete. Installation of linemarking Is underway and fencing will follow. For further information, please contact the Northern District Office on 4429 3821.

Worrigee Street - The streetscape upgrade for Worrigee Street has been awarded to contractor and they have commenced.  They are expected to be completed by the October long weekend (weather pending).  Parking may be affected during this time. For further information please call 4429 3224.

Nowra Hill

Albatross Road - Full pavement rehabilitation of approximately 0.69km from Braidwood Road to HMAS Albatross.  Pavement reconstruction and shoulder widening has been completed, and the sprayed bitumen wearing course scheduled for placement this week.  Line marking and lane delineation is scheduled for the week commencing 31 July. Sanctuary Point

Kerry Street and Paradise Beach Road – A roundabout is proposed at the intersection of Kerry Street and Paradise Beach Road and a contractor has been awarded. It is expected that construciton will start in July.  This project is being funded under the Federal Blackspot Program for 2016/17. For further information please call 4429 3224.

South Nowra

Flinders Road - Route upgrade works involve the widening and upgrade between Norfolk Avenue and Nowra Creek bridge to produce a 13m wide sealed road with kerb and gutter and drainage throughout.  The roundabout construction involves the construction of 2 concrete roundabouts (a primary and a secondary).  The work will also feature improved street lighting at the existing intersections.  The contractor has been engaged and construction works onsite are anticipated to commence in May and scheduled for completion before Christmas 2017 (weather pending). During construction, Flinders and Albatross Roads will be kept open to motorists, however minor to moderate traffic delays can be expected.  Motorists travelling through Flinders and Albatross Roads on their daily commute (and not as the final destination) will be encouraged to use an alternate route where possible to help minimise impact.   For further information please contact 4429 3224.

Tomerong

Hawken Road – Widening of the eastern road shoulder north of Pine Forest Road intersection will be undertaken in July to allow for an “On-Road Footpath”. For further information please call 4406 2000.

Pine Forest Road – Widening of the southern shoulder west of Connolly St and across Tomerong Creek is currently being constructed to allow for an “On-Road Footpath”.  For further information please call 4406 2000.

Ulladulla

Deering and Jubilee Streets – A roundabout is proposed at the intersection of Deering and Jubilee Streets.  It is expected that construction will start in July.  This project is being funded under the Federal Blackspot Program for 2016/17. For further information please call 4429 3224.

Vincentia

Dacres Street – Drainage upgrade works incorporating minor sections of new kerb and gutter is currently being constructed. For further information please call 4406 2000.

Worrowing Heights / Vincentia

Naval College Road - Limited to between Pine Forest Road and Seagrass Avenue.  Works will include road shoulder widening and sealing.  The project construction activities are expected to be completed by the end of August 2017.​  Traffic will not be hindered with traffic control provided at all times of the works.  For further information please contact 4429 3405.

ROAD EMBANKMENT (LANDSLIP) STABILISATION & ASSOCIATED WORKS

Council has engaged a contractor to undertake a number of repairs to road embankments on numerous roads.  The works program may be adjusted due to unexpected conditions and wet weather. Traffic control will be in place during the works and motorists short expect some delays. These are outlined below:

UPCOMING WORKS

Bomaderry

West Birriley Street / North Tarawal Street – A pedestrian facility is proposed for the intersection of West Birriley St and North Tarawal St. Works have now begun.  The road was closed for a 4 week period of time due to the constraints of road and surrounding embankments. Bundewallah

Bundewallah Road – Strengthening work will commence on the bridge over Chishoms Creek on 24 July 2017. The works are expected to take 1-2 weeks. The road will remain open. For further information, please contact the Northern District Office on 4429 3821.

Callala Bay

Callala Beach Rd – Road pavement reconstruction and road widening will commence early August. The works will be undertaken from Emmett St for 500m to the north.  Callala Beach Road will be closed from 7 August until the works are complete. A detour will be in place via Emmett St and Callala Bay Road. Callala Beach Rd and Forest Rd Intersection – Road widening and safety improvements will commence early August.  Works include the removal of selected trees on the northern side of the intersection, the construction of a passing lane for East bound traffic and the placement of a 10mm AC surface over the intersection. Huskisson

Intersection of Naval College Rd, Huskisson Rd and Pine Forest Rd - The design and construction of road rehabilitation is due to be commenced shortly on this project.  The contractor has been awarded and it is expected that the project will take approximately 6 weeks.  For further information please contact 4429 3224.

Myola

Catherine St – Low cost Seal of existing gravel road from the existing seal to the Myola boat ramp car park.  Access to the boat ramp will be restricted to outside working hours. For further information please contact the Roads Unit on 4406 2000.

Ulladulla

St. Vincent and Church Streets – A roundabout is proposed at the intersection of St. Vincent and Church Streets with a design completed and tender phase due to start.  Construction is scheduled to commence in the coming months. This project is being funded under the Federal Blackspot Program for 2016/17. For further information please call 4429 3224.

Worrowing Heights

Naval College Road – The bridge over Moona Moona Creek on Naval College Road is to be replaced with construction to start in the next couple of months.  Design has been completed and tender documentation is underway.  Dates will be updated after tender has been awarded. RECENTLY COMPLETED WORKS

Brundee

Greenwell Point Road - Rehabilitation of 620m of road pavement and construction of adjacent shoulders is now complete.  Stage 2 of the works through the Mayfield intersection and to the east will be undertaken in the 2017/18 road rehabilitation program.For further information please contact the Roads Unit on 4406 2000.

Conjola

Lake Conjola Entrance Road - Bitumen sealing of the road pavement is now complete. Line Marking and Guardrail works will be completed in the near future..  For further information please call 4429 8902

Termeil

Old Princes Highway – Low cost seal, consisting of a pavement over lay and bitumen seal is complete between the existing seal and #295. For further information please contact the Roads Unit on 4406 2000.
