Community transport

Disclaimer: This Community Transport page is a resource provided to the Shoalhaven community for community members to access services that can assist with affordable transportation options. Shoalhaven City Council do not directly provide these services.

To assist people in our community, maintain an independent lifestyle or get to medical appointments,  there are several Community Transport options available across the region.

Some services are fully subsided, other services may require a small contribution fee.

Shoalhaven Community Transport Service

Ulladulla - 1300 411 345

Provides quality door to door transport, to assist eligible people maintain an independent lifestyle. Service is provided mainly by a team of volunteers.

Fee: Contribution fees apply with subsidies available for eligible groups.

Cancer Council Shoalhaven Transport to Treatment

Nowra - 0428 681 936

Provides transport to treatment for cancer patients in the Shoalhaven area, patients must be able to walk unaided to and from the vehicle.

Bay and Basin Patient Transport Service

Volunteer Drivers provide transport from various Bay and Basin pick-up points for treatment in the Shoalhaven Cancer Care Centre.

This service is a volunteer community run initiative.

Fee: A small fee may be charged to help cover costs.

Community Transport Aid (CTA) Ulladulla

Provides transport for residents of the Southern Shoalhaven to attend medical and health related appointments, both locally and long distance.

Fee: Client contributions vary dependent on kilometres travelled. There are subsidies available to clients undergoing cancer treatment.

Cancer Outpatient Appeal/CTA Free Transport Service

For people with cancer in the Southern Shoalhaven Region attending the Milton Ulladulla Cancer Centre.

IPTAAS (Isolated Patient Transport and Accommodation Assistance Scheme)

This subsidy scheme assists people in isolated and rural communities to gain access to medical specialists and treatment not available locally.

To apply for assistance under IPTAAS download the form from the internet or ask a Social Worker or CNC.
