Older people are valued members of our Shoalhaven community. We work to create environments where the wisdom, experience, and ongoing contributions of our older adults are celebrated and nurtured. We do this by providing access to services, resources, and community connections that foster health and wellbeing.
The NSW Seniors Festival celebrates the role and contributions of older adults to our local communities. It's the largest of its kind in the southern hemisphere, with over 500,000 people attending each year.
The Seniors Festival includes hundreds of events across NSW including art classes, fitness and live music. Most are free or low cost to attend. There's also online events, so people at home, or in aged care can enjoy it 'live'.
The NSW Seniors Festival for 2026 will run from 2-15 March, and the theme is 'Live Life in Colour!'.
Seniors Festival events happening in the Shoalhaven will be available soon. Visit What's-on for details.

The Inclusion & Access Advisory Committee identifies the needs of the different disability groups in the local government area.
It also works to increase public awareness of access barriers and the extent to which they disadvantage people with disabilities, the aged and parents with children etc.
