Western Distributor Road - Currowan - Crossing Upgrade

A piped culvert crossing on Western Distributor Road over Currowan Creek is being upgraded to a bridge to improve fish passage.

The latest

May 2025 Update - The design phase of the contract is complete. Material procurement and pre-works documentation is in progress. Construction is scheduled to commence mid-June 2025. Refer to the notification of works letter for further details.

About the works

This bridge infrastructure project was identified and is being funded by Department of Regional NSW – DPI Fisheries under the Marine Estate Management Strategy (MEMS) program.

The existing culvert crossing on Currowan Creek at Western Distributor Road is being upgraded to a bridge to improve fish passage.  

Estimated Project Timeline:

  • Preliminaries & Project Tendering - Late 2024
  • Contract Award - Early 2025
  • Design Phase of the Contract - February to May 2025
  • Construction Phase of the Contract - June to September 2025
