Council has undertaken a condition inspection of the Abernethys Creek culvert crossing under Bolong Rd. This inspection identified deterioration of the culvert and recommended that repairs be undertaken.

About the works
The Bolong Rd culvert for Abernethys Creek is an insitu cast concrete culvert constructed in the late 1950s. It has been identified for substantial repair works. Works will consist of replacing damaged concrete, treating exposed and corroded reinforcement and adding additional structural support to the outer walls.
History
10/09/2025 - Culvert repair work has commenced.
18/08/2025 - Contractor has established site compound. Culvert preparatory works commencing this week.
04/07/2025 - Detailed design is ongoing.
02/06/2025 - Design phase of project has commenced.
07/05/2025 - Council resolved at the ordinary meeting on the 29/04/2025 to accept the tender of Marine & Civil Maintenance Pty Ltd. Design will commence in May with construction expected to begin early in the new financial year.
27/03/2025 - Council has currently in the process of engaging a qualified contractor to undertake the repair of the culvert.
