15/09/2026 - The project is currently out to tender, and Council is planning construction before the end of 2026. The fields are currently open, but the lower field will be closed during construction and turf reestablishment period.

About the project

The lower field at Lighthouse Oval experiences ongoing drainage issues resulting in waterlogging, reduced field availability and deterioration of playing conditions following rainfall events. Funding has been allocated within Council's FY2026/27 Capital Works Program to deliver subsurface drainage improvements. The project supports Council's Community Infrastructure Strategic Plan and will provide improved service levels for Milton United Football Club and other users of the facility.
