This footpath is a key asset to the local Berringer Lake, Manyana and Cunjurong Point communities, making pedestrian travel much safer. It aligns to the core benefits outlined in Council's Pedestrian Access and Mobility Plan (PAMP).

The latest

08/07/2026 - Construction of the final 160-metre section of the shared pathway has been completed and the pathway is now open to the public. The completed connection provides a safe and accessible route for pedestrians, cyclists, mobility scooter users and families with prams travelling between Berringer Lake, Manyana and Cunjurong Point.

About the project

This initiative was founded by the Red Head Villages Association (RHVA) and provides a safe way for the local community to travel on foot, by bicycle, mobility scooter or with prams between the villages of Berringer Lake, Manyana and Cunjurong Point.

The RHVA have received various grants since 2018 to construct a pedestrian footpath from Lake Berringer to Manyana which to date has been delivered with volunteer contributions and local contractors. Council have provided funding in the 2025 /2026 Delivery Plan to complete the next section of 1.8 metre wide path which is approximately 160 meters extending from the existing stop-point on Cunjurong point Road, to the final end-point at the Old Cunjurong Point RFS Station.

History - 2026

16/06/2026 - Works have commenced on delivering the next stage of the pathway and will continue over a two-week period, weather permitting. There are traffic control and pedestrian diversions being implemented during the works. Once complete these works will result in enhancement pedestrian safety, accessibility, and connectivity for the local community.

20/05/2025 - Council has now engaged a contractor to undertake the works to complete the pathway along Cunjurong Point Road. Works are scheduled to commence following the June long weekend during the week of 9 June 2026, and is expected to take approximately Ten (10) days, weather permitting.

22/04/2026 - Procurement is currently underway to engage a contractor to undertake the works. Once a contractor is engaged it is anticipated that works will commence onsite in late May 2026 and be completed by end June 2026. Whilst works are underway a traffic management plan will be implemented.
