On Wednesday 11th May 2022 Shoalhaven City Council hosted a Community Workshop for Homelessness. The Workshop brought together over 50 community members who represented local government, welfare services, businesses, community groups and people with lived experience of homelessness. The Workshop focused on building upon our community’s assets to develop actions to assist those who are experiencing homelessness or doing it tough.

It was great to see enthusiasm build throughout the day as participants held thought-provoking conversations. There were several great outcomes seen through the workshop including opportunities for the community members present to network and connect with key stakeholders.

The workshop encouraged creative solutions to local problems and built the foundation for collaborative community approaches to addressing the gaps.

The Community Workshop for Homelessness has built the foundation for a collaborative community approach to tackle homelessness in the Shoalhaven and the assets and creative solutions that were identified through the Workshop are now being used to form a plan.

Shoalhaven City Council is excited to continue to work with the community to address Homelessness and support people doing it tough in the Shoalhaven.
