Historical acknowledgment

  • It’s 1963 and the few permanent (Callala Bay) residents form a Progress Association, to build a community hall. Fundraising began by raffling off a goose, this added to residents’ donations and a 20-pound ($40) deposit for the land was raised. Testament to persistent efforts, the hall doors opened circa 1970.
