The Australian Electric Vehicle (EV) industry is in the early stages of development.
In cities and regional centres, charging blackspots (areas that do not have convenient access to public charging stations) are a growing issue. To address charging gaps across the Shoalhaven and to meet growing community demand, Council is working to identify suitable locations where different types of EV charging infrastructure can be installed.
In 2022, Council updated its EV Charging Stations on Public Land Policy to help guide decision-making and planning of EV charging infrastructure across our region. Under this Policy, Council is committed to undertake community consultation when planning new EV charging infrastructure on public land.
The proposed EV chargers located at 85 South Street, Ulladulla will be accessible to all EV drivers and will host 2 x PKM ultra-fast chargers (servicing 4 EV charging bays).
