September 2023 Update - The final design is being reviewed. Preliminary construction activities to commence early October 2023.

About the project

The proposed shared user path bridge is an 11m long single span truss bridge over the waterway, connected with 74m of concrete path to the west and 6m of elevated boardwalk and 55m of concrete path to the east. In addition, the project will involve construction of pram ramps, kerb & gutter, signage, bollards, line marking and drainage improvements.

This key piece of infrastructure will address concerns raised by the community over the safety of pedestrians and cyclists due to the non-compliant nature of the existing footbridge that crosses this waterway.
