As we head into a dry and hot summer, learn how to keep you and your family safe
Shoalhaven Water, through its Asset Management system, has identified large packages of existing water mains throughout the Shoalhaven Local Government Area, which are susceptible to breakage and require asset renewal, upgrade and/or replacement.
Shoalhaven Water has engaged a qualified consultant to provide the required design services, with subsequent construction works to be delivered via a combination of Council's Shoalhaven Water internal construction teams and external contractors.
In consultation with Shoalhaven Water’s Operations Group, the list of identified mains were prioritised based on main criticality, class, size, breakage history and location. The final prioritised list of mains identified have been summarised within the Related Documents.
Through renewal, upgrade and/or replacement of these mains, Council can expect a reduction in water main breakages, improved pressure to residents/hydrant operation during fires and a more robust water distribution system.
Review of Environmental Factors (REF) Reports have been prepared for this project, and exhibited as follows:
Following the completion of the design works, Shoalhaven City Council has now placed the Review of Environmental Factors (REF) for Packages 2 & 3 on Public Exhibition. Once the exhibition period ends, Council will consider any submissions received and update/finalise the REF document accordingly.
