New Plans of Management (PoMs) for the Shoalhaven’s four showgrounds are ready for community feedback.

The draft plans outline how Berry, Kangaroo Valley, Milton and Nowra showgrounds are managed and used by residents and visitors.

Mayor Patricia White said Plans of Management ensure that land is used, maintained and protected for the community’s benefit.

“Plans of management must be reviewed regularly and it’s now time to get feedback on these draft plans,” Cr White said.

“Our showgrounds are best known for hosting the region’s annual agricultural shows which attract visitors, boost the economy, and have a special significance for many residents,” she said.

“If you play sport, host a market, or provide an activity at one of our showgrounds, then make sure you read the draft plans and have your say.”

Council is required under NSW legislation to develop and maintain Plans of Management for all Community Land under its management.

The documents are created in consultation with the community to ensure that the land is managed in a way that meets the community’s needs and expectations, including its use and development.

The community is invited to have their say on these four documents which provide both short-term and long-term management for each showground.

Head to Council’s Get Involved platform by 18 August to provide feedback on Berry Showground, Kangaroo Valley Showground, Milton Showground and Nowra Showground.
