Shoalhaven Environmental Expo is set to ignite the imagination

Shoalhaven City Council is inviting the community to come along and celebrate World Environment Day on Wednesday, 5 June at the Shoalhaven Environmental Expo.

The Expo program is overflowing with talks, information, art, innovations, local initiatives and practical ideas on cost-effective ways you can reduce your ecological footprint and reduce waste. Highlights of the day include

  • Special guests: Craig Reucassel (ABC TV War on Waste) will make two presentations at 12om and 2 pm, Stephen Willis (Shoalhaven Recycling) will answer all your recycling questions at 10 am.
  • The “Bin Quiz” with local environmental champion “Wombat”
  • Roving theatre performances including magician Adam Axford and the King and Queen of Green.
  • Clothes Swap hosted by The Salvation Army.
  • Local environmental community groups providing information about their activities and how you can join in.
  • The ReIMAGINE Sculpture competition and exhibition on display until Friday, 7 June.

Shoalhaven City Council Mayor Amanda Findley said “The Shoalhaven Environmental Expo is guaranteed to be an exciting day of entertainment, discovery and inspiration. I encourage everyone in the Shoalhaven to come along, celebrate World Environment Day and ignite your passion to ReIMAGINE a sustainable future by taking positive action at a personal level. "

The twenty artworks featured in the ReIMAGINE Sculpture exhibition are competing for a two-week artist residency at Bundanon plus $5000 cash and a People’s Choice Award of $500 cash plus a Holiday Haven voucher. All Shoalhaven residents are encouraged to view the sculptures now on display at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre until Friday, 7 June. Voting for People Choice Award closes with the Expo at 4 pm on June 6th.
