Shoalhaven City Council is advising of the temporary closure of Sussex Inlet Aquatic Centre on and from Saturday, 18 May 2019 until Monday, 3 June 2019, to undertake preventative maintenance works, in the form of replacement of the internal pool shell vinyl liner.
These works have been identified within the Shoalhaven Swim Sport Fitness (Aquatics) Asset Management Plan (PRD18/56) and funded through the 2018/19 Shoalhaven Swim Sport Fitness (Aquatics) Capital Works Program.
The existing swimming pool liner is now nearing the end of its serviceable life and its replacement is timely and is also planned to have minimal impact on existing programs at the Centre. These works have also been scheduled around the availability of a suitably qualified contractor.
During this time, recently introduced land-based programs will continue in the adjacent Thomson Street Sporting Complex Hall, as per the published timetable on the Shoalhaven Swim Sport Fitness website. Programs are always available at Council’s other major, year-round Leisure Centres.
