Shoalhaven Water is delivering new wastewater infrastructure to support future residential development in West Nowra. The project will ensure reliable servicing for the growing community and support long-term urban growth.

Project stages

Options assessment - Completed

Status: Completed (February 2025)

A detailed hydraulic assessment was completed to guide future design and identify preferred pipeline alignments. It considered:

  • property concerns
  • constructability
  • community and social impacts
  • geotechnical conditions
  • environmental and heritage issues
  • operational reliability and risk

Detailed design - In progress

Status: In progress
Expected completion: October 2025

Design work is being delivered in packages of works. It includes:

  • construction of a new sewer pump station at Mundamia
  • upgrades to the existing sewer rising main in Mundamia
  • new sewer rising mains along Yalwal Road
  • a new sewer gravity main connecting Yalwal Road to the existing pump station at St Anns Street, Nowra

Review of Environmental Factors (REF) - Scheduled

Status: Public exhibition scheduled for August 2025

The REF will assess potential environmental impacts and outline mitigation measures. It will be available for public comment before final approvals.
