A number of COVID-19 pop-up testing clinics have been established in the Shoalhaven following confirmation that a positive COVID case from Melbourne was in Jervis Bay, Goulburn, Hyams Beach and Vincentia while potentially infectious on 23 and 24 May.

The person, who reported the onset of symptoms on 25 May and was tested on Monday, 31 May, drove back to Melbourne on 24 May. Victoria’s stay-at-home measures took effect on 27 May.

To help meet increased demand for COVID-19 testing in the Shoalhaven, Southern IML has established a pop-up drive-through clinic behind the Husky Sports Club. The clinic, which can now be entered via the oval off Park Street, Huskisson, is operating today between 10am-6pm and then 8am-6pm 7 days per week.

Southern IML has established a second clinic at the Bay and Basin Leisure Centre, the Wool Rd, Vincentia. The clinic will be open until 6pm today and then 8am-6pm 7 days per week.

In addition, Laverty Pathology has set up a drive-through pop-up clinic at the Nowra Showground, West Street, Nowra until 6pm today and then 8am-6pm 7 days per week.

Existing testing sites will have extended hours and the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District will monitor activity and can stand up additional clinics if required.

Testing locations include:

  • Nowra Southern IML Pathology Drive-through Clinic, 57 Junction Street, open 9am-5pm Monday-Friday
  • Shoalhaven Hospital, entry via Shoalhaven Street driveway 2 Scenic Drive, open 8:30am-12:30pm and 1:15pm-4:30pm Monday - Sunday
  • Milton Ulladulla Hospital, 106 Princess Highway, enter via Main Hospital Entrance, open 8am-3:30pm Monday - Sunday
  • Gerringong 4Cyte Pathology Drive-through, Gerringong Medical and Cosmetic Centre, 139 Belinda Street, open 9am-3:30pm Monday-Friday

For more information about any of the District’s COVID-19 testing clinics, visit the Illawarra Shoalhaven local health district website.

NSW has more COVID-19 testing clinics than any other State or Territory and people are urged to visit an alternative site if there is heavy demand at one location. A full list of testing clinics is available on the NSW Health website. People can also visit their local GP.
