Shoalhaven City Council is inviting community input on the Draft Millards Creek Flood Study.

The online survey is now open for feedback from the community until Friday 7 May 2021.

Council engaged Water Modelling Solutions to assist with the preparation of the Millards Creek Flood Study.

Shoalhaven City Council Mayor Amanda Findley encouraged community members to provide feedback on the draft study.

“It’s vital that the community has the opportunity to provide input into the development of the Draft Millards Creek Flood Study. The outcomes of this project can help provide protection for you, your family and your property from flooding”, Clr Findley stated.

“I encourage you to have your say to help inform the draft study.

“The objective of this study is to improve understanding of flood behaviour and impacts, and better inform management of flood risk in the study area. The study will also provide a sound technical basis for any further flood risk management investigation in the Millards Creek area”, Clr Findley said.

Council endorsed the public exhibition of the Draft Millards Creek Flood Study at the Southern Floodplain Risk Management Committee Meeting on 31 March 2021.

Council received financial support from the State Floodplain Management program managed by the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment (DPIE) to undertake a flood investigation of the Millards Creek Catchment. Assistance provided under the NSW State Floodplain Management program is $2 from Government for every $1 provided by Council.
