Join a Floodplain Risk Management Committee

Council is seeking expressions of interest for membership on the Floodplain Risk Management Committee for the following vacant positions:

Northern Floodplain Risk Management Committee

  • One (1) youth representative between ages 16 and 30

Central Floodplain Risk Management Committee

  • One (1) youth representative between ages 16 and 30
  • Two (2) local community representatives

Southern Floodplain Risk Management Committee

  • One (1) youth representative between ages 16 and 30
  • One (1) local community representatives

Steps to apply:

Purpose

Floodplain Risk Management Committees help Council manage flood risks across the city and help to develop Council’s Floodplain Risk Management Plans as outlined in the NSW Flood Risk Management Manual (2023).

The Floodplain Risk Management Committees consist of three (3) separate committees:

  • Northern Floodplain Risk Management Committee
  • Central Floodplain Risk Management Committee
  • Southern Floodplain Risk Management Committee

These three (3) committees help manage flood risks for their separate designated areas (see map below).
