Construction Certificates

To commence building works you need to firstly obtain a Construction Certificate before you start the build. This Certificate confirms:

Construction plans and specifications are consistent with the development consent and comply with the Building Code of Australia
All the required fees and development contributions have been paid
All development consent conditions required to be satisfied before the issue of the construction certificate have been satisfied

Note

It is important to understand a Construction Certificate cannot be issued retrospectively and penalties can apply if building works are unauthorised.

After we issue a Construction Certificate, Council’s Registered Certifiers will need to complete the critical stage inspections identified in the contract.
