Shoalhaven City Council Mayor Amanda Findley has launched her annual Mayor’s Christmas Giving Box Appeal at Stockland Nowra.
The Mayor’s Giving Box which encourages shoppers to donate to those less fortunate than themselves to provide some much-needed Christmas cheer.

Shoalhaven City Council’s Tourism team has taken out Gold Award at the NSW Tourism Awards for the 100 Beach Challenge Campaign on Thursday, 22 November 2018.

Shoalhaven City Council has commenced a review of this strategy and will be holding five community drop-in sessions to provide the opportunity to view the documents and discuss the review face-to-face with Council staff.
The ‘drop-in’ Sessions will be held from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm at the following times and venues:

Community Development Grant Winners Announced.
Shoalhaven City Council has provided more than $19,000 in financial assistance to 10 community groups and organisations under this year’s Community Development Grant Program.
Shoalhaven Mayor Amanda Findley said the Community Development Grant Program is a great way for Council to aid help assist these community organisations who play an important role in building resilient communities throughout our region.

Hundreds are expected to join Shoalhaven residents lining the street of Nowra at this year’s Freedom of Entry event on Friday, 23 November.

On 30 October 2018, Council adopted a new policy position to waive the requirement for an applicant to supply additional car parking required by a change of use development in traditional retail centres. This also means that in certain centres developer contributions for car parking projects will not be charged.
The policy aims to facilitate greater retail and employment opportunities across Shoalhaven and is in place for a 2-year trial period.
