Beach Wheelchairs

Shoalhaven City Council has beach wheelchairs available free of charge for beaches across the Shoalhaven.

The beach wheelchairs will provide and improve access to the beach for children and young people living with disability.

The child and adult size all-terrain beach wheelchairs will ensure children, particularly those aged 9 to 15 years, have access to and are included in mainstream activities, for example, visiting the beach.

People looking to hire a beach wheelchair need to:

• follow safety procedures
• sign a hire and indemnity form
• only use the beach wheelchair at the designated site they are booked from
• only use the beach wheelchair between the flags as patrolled by the Surf Life Saving Club
• make sure carers assist in using the beach wheelchair
