O'Keefe's Point

01/02/24 - Works have commenced on the levee at O'Keefe's Point and are anticipated to be completed in February 2024. Further works to be scheduled.

27/10/2023 - The request for tender closes on 14 November 2023, to repair a section of the O'Keefe's Point Levee. Following tender submissions, a start date for commencement of works will be announced.

04/03/24 - Survey and design have been completed. Works go out to tender following Numbaa Levee package of works in April 2024. Council will also look to combine additional grant funded works to be confirmed in March 2024. Subscribe to this page for updates.

03/08/2023 - Council with assistance from Public Works is preparing design documentation and will obtain the required approvals to allow the flood damage to these levees to be repaired. Following the completion of the design and approvals stage, Council will procure a suitably qualified contractor to undertake these levee repairs.

Project background

Council, in partnership with landowners and relevant State Government Agencies, is committed to maintaining the Lower Shoalhaven River flood levee network to a high standard and in a manner that proactively protects the community, the environment, assets and productive agricultural land from frequent inundation.

Council has received funding from the Australian Government via Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA) to repair flood damage to levees identified from the visual audit of the Shoalhaven River flood levee network.

Levee damage is predominantly located on private property so no closures or restrictions on roads are anticipated. Throughout the design and construction stages of these levee repair works, Council will be required to enter private properties which contains a section of flood levee. Landowners will be notified in advance prior to property entry.
