As repair works are near completion the contractor now has minimum onsite presence until they're directed to continue verge works on the Southern side. Outstanding minor works are cleanup, signage, guide posting. Minor repairs to primer seal and pavement are expected, bituminous wearing surface to be applied.
Temporary line marking is in place now to assist motorists define traffic lanes.
The Shoalhaven was declared a Natural Disaster Area 5 March 2022 after an East Coast Low and subsequent rain events. This had a major impact on our communities, causing rapid deterioration to pavements and roads. Terara Road, Terara, was severely impacted by these rain events resulting in scheduled pavement repair works.

2024 Works history
20/03/2024 - Contractor is continuing verge works throughout the site. Pavement construction works are nearing completion.
07/02/2024 - Contractor is established onsite with drainage works being undertaken. Pavement work is programmed to start 20 February, with works expected to be completed by end of April 2024.
24/01/2024 - Currently in contract exchange with works programmed to start 29 January 2024.
2023 Works history
- 16/11/23 - Ground investigations and pavement designs have been completed and submitted to TfNSW. Tenders are ready for advertising pending TfNSW approval.
- 05/09/2023 - Maintenance staff are undertaking weekly inspection of the road and actioning temporary road repairs as required.
- 06/04/2023 - Maintenance staff will undertake weekly inspection of the road and schedule temporary pothole repairs as required.
- 29/03/2023 - Temporary pavement repairs are being completed at this location prior to Easter (pothole repairs and large shoves).
- 24/03/2023 - Ground investigations and pavement designs have been completed and submitted to TfNSW. Tenders are ready for advertising pending TfNSW approval.
- 17/03/2023 - Waiting on Natural Disaster funding confirmation prior to going to tender.
- 19/01/2023 - Sampling and testing investigations have commenced to inform appropriate repair methods. Once completed Council will seek funding approval from transport to proceed to tender the works.
2022 Works history
- 21/12/2022 - Tender expected in February 2023 following sampling and testing investigations.
- 25/11/2022 - Council is engaging geotechnical engineers to undertake pavement investigations to provide advice on repair works, prior to Tendering in February 2023.
- 22/10/2022 - An open tender to deliver a Central District Pavement Repair Program is expected to be called in December 2022. Road rehabilitation works will be completed along several sections of Terara Road commencing next year.
- 01/10/2022 - Council is asking for contractors to undertake heavy patching along Terara Road and are expected to commence later this calendar year.
