About the project
Shoalhaven Water has engaged a qualified Contractor to provide relining services to selected sewer mains located in the Nowra, Bomaderry and Huskisson region to improve the sewer system and help protect the local environment and the public health of our communities.
The works are anticipated to be undertaken over a period of 6 months (July – December 2023) and include the following activities:
- Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) inspection of the main sewer pipes
- High pressure water jetting
- Rehabilitation of sewer mains.
It is not expected that the nature of the works will interrupt any residential sewer service availability.
Council notes that during the works, Council’s staff and Contractors will be required to enter selected resident’s properties to access associated sewer main access chambers (sewer manholes). Access to resident’s households will not be required. For those residents where access to their properties is required as part of the works (typically where a Council sewer access chamber/manhole resides), Council’s Contractor will ensure contact is made prior to accessing your property.
During the works residents may experience a temporary increase in truck movements, noise generation, works in road reserves and odours. All contractors and council staff will observe safe speed limits, implement appropriate traffic control management plans and limit works to approved acceptable hours of works.
Shoalhaven Water recognises that the nature of the works may impose some local impact in your area and will work with our contractor to ensure these impacts are kept to a minimum.
