In 2022 severe weather and large waves during a natural disaster event caused significant damage to this pedestrian beach access path and stairs. Erosion around the beach touch point of the structure was severely impacting the structural stability and safety of the stairway. For safety reasons, reconstruction and repair works are scheduled to be completed at Plantation Point Parade, Nelsons Ramp, Vincentia.

The recent approval for Commonwealth disaster recovery funding marks a key milestone in council's efforts to repair the damage and restore the best functionality to this beach access asset. Communication and progress tracking will be maintained to keep all stakeholders informed throughout the repair process.
