About the project

We are proud to announce the completion of an accessible viewing platform on Surfers Avenue, at the southern end of Narrawallee Beach.

Everyone is able to enjoy the spectacular coastal scenery and peaceful atmosphere, with easy access to the view now in place.

The Inclusion and Access Advisory Group and Council endorsed the designs for the amenities being provided in this area. After offering local residents’ the opportunity for consultation, and assessing the needs of the community, Council determined to implement the project in accordance with the Delivery Program Operational Plan and Budget.

The viewing platform is located approximately 25 meters to the east of the Shoalhaven Water utility access track off Surfers Avenue, Narrawallee. The viewing platform provides all members of the community with access to an area offering northern facing views along Narrawallee Beach.

The path to the viewing platform complies with the Australian Standard for access and mobility.

Ongoing consultation with Council’s Inclusive and Access Advisory Group continues. For more information about the committee, visit the Inclusion Access Advisory Group web page

Additionally, Council is investigating funding and resourcing options to deliver a potential future second stage of works involving construction of one disabled parking space and associated pedestrian access providing connectivity to the new viewing platform.
