Today Council’s General Manager Russ Pigg has announced his retirement plans to the Mayor and Councillors. Russ has advised that he will continue working in February and March before a period of long service leave and retire from 10/8/19.
After spending over 42 years in the industry with 27 years of this as either a Shire Clerk or General Manager, the time has come to move into retirement.

Shoalhaven City Council will commence preparing the pilot channel for the manual opening of Lake Conjola over the next two days Wednesday, 19 December and Thursday, 20 December in preparation for the lake opening.
It is expected that the lake opening will occur on Friday, 21 December at the ebb tide. The opening will be located on the northern side of the spit due to the presence of Shorebirds in the area.

Shoalhaven City Council is reminding residents and visitors that they are monitoring the water level in Lake Conjola following recent rain and in anticipation of an opening of the lake entrance prior to Christmas.
Shoalhaven City Council staff are meeting with Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH) and National Parks and Wildlife Services (NPWS) today to discuss a planned opening of the Lake.

Shoalhaven City Council has extended the exhibition period for the of the Shoalhaven Growth Management Strategy (GMS) Discussion Paper and accompanying Draft Shoalhaven Character Assessment Report has been extended until Wednesday 2 January 2019.

Shoalhaven City Council is advising residents that garbage and recycling kerbside collections will continue as normal over the Christmas period.
While garbage collections will remain on Christmas Day, residents are advised to ensure their garbage and recycling bins are placed out the night before collection. Collection trucks will be picking up garbage and recycling bins much earlier than normal on Christmas Day.
