Shoalhaven City Council is calling for the community to assist in the design and development of the organisation’s new website.
As part of the website development, Council is seeking community volunteers to participate in an on-line exercise designed to test and review the proposed navigation of the new site.
Volunteer participants will be sent an email containing the link to the test site where they will be asked to assess the layout and design of the website and answer a series of questions relating to navigation choices.
Local residents who have their say on the website design will go into the draw for a number of exciting prizes.
Mayor, Joanna Gash said Council was creating the new easy to use website as a way of better catering to the needs of the community.
“Research has demonstrated that the website is one of the key avenues for an organisation to communicate with the community,” said Clr Gash.
“Council is currently undertaking a complete overhaul and upgrade of the current website to ensure the organisation is providing the community with easy to access information.
“As part of the website redevelopment, we are calling on the community to have their say on the navigation and layout of the new site.”
“I would certainly encourage local residents to assist Council by having their say on the layout and design of the website and by doing so putting themselves in the running to win a number of prizes.”
Prizes include –
- A six month membership to the Nowra Pool.
- Two tickets to the Melbourne Comedy Festival at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre.
- A $200 voucher that can be used for accommodation at one of Shoalhaven Council's Holiday Haven tourist parks.
The exercise will be open for completion between 28 March and 10 April 2015 and is completed on the participant's personal computer, taking about 15 minutes.
