Shoalhaven City Council is encouraging local Not for Profit Organisations to apply for funding under the National Stronger Regions Fund (NSRF). The Federal Government program has been created to provide $1 billion of funding towards the construction of priority infrastructure in regional communities over the coming five years. Shoalhaven City Council Mayor, Joanna Gash is encouraging local artists to apply for one of 10 NSW Fellowship for Regional Artists to be provided by the State Government. The $50,000 fellowships are open to regionally based artists practicing in a diverse range of art forms inclusive of dance, digital arts, history, Aboriginal arts and culture, literature, music, theatre, screen and the visual arts. Shoalhaven City Council is encouraging local residents to sign up to a new service allowing ratepayers to receive and pay their rates electronically. Rates notices are now available electronically through BPayView allowing ratepayers to receive, pay and store their notices in their online banking account. Shoalhaven City Council has adopted a revised Private Functions on Public Reserves Policy at this afternoon’s Ordinary Meeting. The Policy changes will enable Council to better monitor and facilitate the use of Council managed public reserves while also preventing large booking conflicts and overuse of specific areas. Shoalhaven City Council is undertaking a customer service survey to rate current satisfaction levels with the organisation’s tourism services. Coordinated by the Shoalhaven Tourism Unit and the Visitor Information Centre Services, the survey has been sent to over 800 local tourism operators. Shoalhaven Water has again performed strongly in the National Performance Report, a comprehensive report card monitoring water utility performance. The report, compiled by the Bureau of Meteorology, provides benchmarking information for 78 Australian water utilities across 19 separate key performance indicators.
