Shoalhaven City Council will join the Bomaderry, Culburra, Nowra and Berry Bowling Clubs in hosting some of the top female lawn bowlers in NSW as part of the upcoming 2015 BCiB Women’s State Pennants. The Pennants, which are set to take place between Monday 17 – Friday 21 August, will feature 56 teams from across the State, each of which have qualified for the tournament after progressing through the district and regional levels. Shoalhaven City Council will be undertaking rehabilitation works on Browns Road, South Nowra from Monday 17 August. The works are being undertaken to rebuild the road pavement at the highway end of the road. To minimise disruptions, the works will be completed over two nights between Monday 17 August and Wednesday 19 August.      Shoalhaven City Council Mayor, Joanna Gash said she has been overwhelmed by the community response to the overnight vandalism of the Free Little Library located in the Thorough_Fair. Vandals appear to have set fire to the Free Little Library with the purpose built box and its contents completely destroyed while the recently laid turf surrounding the Library was also damaged. Shoalhaven City Council will soon be issuing notices to local pet owners in possession of a dog or cat that is older than six months of age and not lifetime registered. It is a requirement of the NSW Companion Animals Act that all dogs and cats over six months in age be registered. Mayor, Joanna Gash said it was also a requirement that all dogs and cats were identified with a microchip from 12 weeks of age or prior to the animal being sold or given away (whichever occurs first). “...

Shoalhaven City Council’s Policy and Resources Committee have recommended the projects to receive funding from the 2015/16 Roads to Recovery program at this afternoon’s meeting. The Australian Government’s Roads to Recovery Program allows Council to undertake much needed repairs and upgrading works on local roads. Shoalhaven City Council’s Policy and Resources Committee have received the 12 month progress report on the 2014/15 Delivery Program and Operational Plan during this afternoon’s meeting. The report demonstrates an extremely positive final result for Council with the organisation achieving a cash surplus of $473,000 in the General Fund while also achieving Transformation Program savings of $4.6 million. Shoalhaven City Council will join Nowra Motorcycle Club in hosting Round five of the Dirt Action Amcross Series at the Archer Racecourse (Shoalhaven City Turf Club) on 15 – 16 August. The AMCROSS series is a natural terrain motocross series held over six rounds on tracks throughout NSW. Shoalhaven City Council has commenced works on the second stage of the Jelly Bean Park Revitalisation with the project expected to be completed in October, weather permitting.
