NSW RSL State Youth Swimming Championships come to Ulladulla
July 13, 2011
Shoalhaven City Council has secured the rights to host the NSW RSL State Youth Swimming Championships at the Ulladulla Leisure Centre in March 2012.
The event will bring around 2,000 people to the Shoalhaven with competitors from Dubbo, Nelson Bay and the Sydney Basin area all expected to attend the one day carnival.
Shoalhaven City Council Mayor, Paul Green said the swimming championships would provide the ideal vehicle to showcase the area to the thousands of expected visitors.
“This event will provide a huge financial boost to the Ulladulla area and provide flow on effects to the whole of the Shoalhaven,” said Clr Green.
“With over 2,000 competitors and spectators coming to the area this event will provide a fantastic opportunity to showcase the many tourism destinations and high class facilities we have to offer.
“Further to this, the weekend carnival will allow local businesses to profit outside of the peak tourist season.”
“I congratulate Ulladulla on their successful bid to bring the 2012 NSW RSL State Youth Swimming Championships to the area.”
Ulladulla’s tender was successful over the competing towns of Parkes, Wagga Wagga, Muswellbrook and Young.
