Shoalhaven City Council Mayor, Paul Green is encouraging local residents to get along and witness the 2012 Ulladulla Blessing of the Fleet Festival taking place on Easter Sunday 8 April.
An important part of the regional calendar, Councillor Green said he was very excited to see Shoalhaven City Council on board as a Platinum Sponsor for this year’s event.
“The Blessing of the Fleet has built a reputation as an iconic, fun filled event and Council is extremely proud to be involved as a platinum sponsor,” said Clr Green.
“The event will again kick off with the traditional street parade and conclude with the firework display taking place across the picturesque harbour.
“In between, there is action for the whole family with on stage entertainment for the children, global music displays, beach games, a Scottish tattoo and of course, the traditional Blessing of the Fleet ceremony.”
“I would encourage all local residents to come down to Ulladulla over the Easter weekend and participate in what continues to be one of the most exciting and colourful events on the annual calendar.”
Led by the Festival princesses, the street parade signifies the pilgrimage to Ulladulla harbour for the traditional blessing ceremony under the watchful eye of St Peter, the Patron Saint of the Fisherman.
