Shoalhaven Libraries are currently seeking community feedback on what the region’s services should look like in the future.
Shoalhaven City Council Mayor Amanda Findley is encouraging residents and ratepayers to make submissions on the Shoalhaven Libraries Draft Strategic Plan 2017-2021 that is currently on exhibition.
“Our library services are one of the most precious resources that we have in the community and Council currently has four static libraries and provides a Mobile Library Service throughout our 49 towns and villages,” Cr Findley said.
“With the changing technological environment, increasing financial pressures and new social trends means that Council needs to develop a new strategy to deliver cost-effective service through the region.
“The Draft Strategic Plan outlines the Shoalhaven Libraries vision for the future of this service that is to builds on current services and keeps these services at the centre of their communities to promote recreation, connection and lifelong learning opportunities for all Shoalhaven residents.”
“Libraries hold a special place for many people and I encourage residents to have their say online or come along to the next Council Information Evening at Vincentia.”
The Shoalhaven Libraries Draft Strategic Plan 2017-2021 can be accessed via Council’s Get Involved page https://getinvolved.shoalhaven.nsw.gov.au/shoalhaven-libraries-strategic-plan. Hard copies of the plan are available to review at Shoalhaven Libraries branches and at the Vincentia Council Information Night on Thursday, June 7 from 6 pm to 8 pm.
Submissions will be open until 10, June 2018.
