Shoalhaven City Council paid tribute to representatives from the area’s Buschcare and Parkcare groups, Management Committees and Clean Up Australia Day organisations at a special morning tea held on Saturday 27 July.
Council hosted the event to thank representatives from the Shoalhaven’s 76 Clean Up Australia sites, 67 Bushcare groups, 40 Management Committees and 24 Parkcare groups.
Shoalhaven City Council Mayor, Paul Green said the morning tea was a small way in which Council could express thanks to a section of the City’s many volunteers.
“It is very easy for much of the good work our large number of bush and parkland regenerating volunteers provide the area to go unnoticed,” said Clr Green.
“The Shoalhaven is home to some of the most naturally spectacular areas along the entire eastern seaboard.
“The hard work of our area’s many volunteers goes a long way towards keeping these spaces in pristine condition and making the Shoalhaven such a fantastic place in which to both live and visit.”
“I would like to congratulate all those tireless volunteers for working hard to ensure the Shoalhaven remains unspoiled for generations to come.
The area’s Buschcare and Parkcare groups, Management Committees and Clean Up Australia Day organisations provide the Shoalhaven with over 2,000 volunteers.
