The Yellow-lid Bin Guide is produced specifically for Shoalhaven residents. It outlines how to recycle correctly via your yellow-lid kerbside bin, Council’s Recycling and Waste Depots and other local specialised recycling alternatives.
Domestic kerbside recycling in the Shoalhaven is a fortnightly service. Your recycling bin is picked up on the same day as your red-lid bin.
Recycling of your old and unwanted textiles is now available at all Council Recycling and Waste Depots.
Textiles including clothing, bed linen, towels and more that were previously destined for landfill.
This program runs in partnership with Nowra based company DLG Australia to recycle textiles that are not fit for reuse.

On 9 November 2022, REDcycle announced that the soft plastics recycling program has been temporarily paused. For more information and updates visit REDcycle.

Never place soft plastic in the yellow-lid bin. For the moment, soft plastics are to be disposed of into your red-lid kerbside bin or stockpiled at home until a suitable alternative solution is identified and set in place.

The yellow bin fridge magnet has been produced specifically for Shoalhaven residents. It clearly shows you the items that are accepted in your yellow-lid kerbside recycling bin. Many of these items are found in the kitchen.
Magnets are available at the Nowra Administration Centre and any of the Shoalhaven Library locations, or you can email wasteadmin@shoalhaven.nsw.gov.au to order one.

Eaton Gorge Theatre Company have a long association with Shoalhaven City Council, delivering important environmental messages for young audiences.
Shows focus on waste reduction, re-using and recycling, and are appropriate for Stages P - 6.
These fun, highly entertaining performances offer plenty of audience participation with the adults in the room learning something too! Early education about our environmental impact can be the starting point for adopting lifelong sustainable habits.
Catering to small and large audiences, shows are 30 - 50 minutes (depending on age-group) with a 1 hour pre-show preparation time. This show is FREE to schools in the Shoalhaven courtesy of Shoalhaven City Council
