The Wool Road / Mernie Street, Old Erowal Bay - Pavement Damage

Following completion of the new channelised right turn at the intersection of The Wool Road and Mernie Street, Council has identified pavement requiring rectification. Council's contractor will be undertaking these works.

About the works

• 21/09/2023 - Pavement rectification works are now complete. Line marking is to be scheduled, subject to weather conditions.

• 15/09/2023 - Works have been further delayed due to unforeseen circumstances with a revised completion date of 22 September 2023, weather permitting. Speed restrictions and reduced lane widths will continue, to ensure minimum disruption to traffic.
  
  

• 01/09/2023 - Works have been further delayed due to unforeseen circumstances with a revised completion date of 16 September 2023, weather permitting. Speed restrictions and reduced lane widths will continue, to ensure minimum disruption to traffic.

• 11/08/2023 - Works have been further delayed due to wet weather and unforeseen circumstances with an expected completion date of 1 September 2023 weather permitting. Speed restrictions and reduced lane widths will continue, to ensure minimum disruption to traffic.

• 20/07/2023 - Testing of the sub-base is complete and work has resumed with an expected completion date of 4 August 2023, weather permitting.

• 07/07/2023 - Pavement rectification works have commenced with removal of the asphalt and base course. Additional testing is being conducted prior to placing the new pavement material. Both lanes are open to traffic with a reduced speed limit of 40km/h. Motorists are urged to adhere to the speed limit and keep left.

• 03/07/2023 - Pavement rectification works will now commence on 4 July 2023 with expected completion in mid July 2023, weather permitting. During this time the site will be under traffic light control with lane closure on The Wool Road at the intersection with Mernie Street. Access to Mernie Street via The Wool Road will be restricted to residents only.

• 15/06/2023 - Pavement rectification works have been further delayed and will now commence in late June 2023 with expected completion in mid July 2023. During this time the site will be under traffic light control with lane closure on The Wool Road at the intersection with Mernie Street. Access to Mernie Street via The Wool Road will be restricted to residents only.

• 07/06/2023 - Pavement rectification works have been delayed and will now commence in mid June 2023 with expected completion in late June 2023. During this time the site will be under traffic light control with lane closure on The Wool Road at the intersection with Mernie Street. Access to Mernie Street via The Wool Road will be restricted to residents only.

• 26/05/2023 - Pavement rectification works will commence in early June 2023 with expected completion in late June 2023.   During this time the site will be under traffic light control with lane closure on The Wool Road at the intersection with Mernie Street.  Access to Mernie Street via The Wool Road will be restricted to residents only.

• 12/05/2023 - Pavement rectification works to be undertaken late May 2023.   During this time the site will be under traffic light control with lane closure on The Wool Road at the intersection with Mernie Street.  Access to Mernie Street via The Wool Road will be restricted to residents only.

• 27/04/2023 - From 5 May to 12 May 2023 the contractor will be undertaking pavement rectification.  Speed reduction and closure of one lane on The Wool Road will occur for the duration of the works.

• Project is complete, pending rectification of asphalt defects. Rectification works will be on-going for several weeks.
