McMahons Road - North Nowra - Pavement Damage
The Shoalhaven was declared a Natural Disaster Area 5 March 2022 after an East Coast Low and subsequent rain events. This had a major impact on our communities, causing rapid deterioration to pavements and roads. McMahons Road, North Nowra, was severely impacted by these rain events resulting in planned repair works.

The latest
04/04/2024 - Transport for NSW has approved funding for eligible patches on McMahons Road. Council is currently working to engage qualified contractors to carry out the necessary repair work.

2023 Works history
07/12/2023 - Pavement repairs have been scoped and submitted to Transport for NSW for funding approval.
08/09/2023 - Pavement repairs are to be scoped prior to submitting to Transport NSW for funding approval.
05/06/2023 - Council has undertaken interim repairs to this road as a safety precaution until further repairs are approved.
23/03/2023 - A quotation for ground investigations and pavement designs will be issued in April 2023 prior to submitting to Transport NSW for scope of work and funding approval.
02/03/2023 - A Geotechnical Engineer is being engaged to carry out pavement investigation works.
A Geotechnical consultant is being engaged to commence sampling and testing works to inform the repair method. Following geotechnical investigations and approval of the scope of work by Transport NSW, works will be Tendered for Construction.
