The road network in Kangaroo Valley was severely impacted in the 2022 March East Coast Low weather event. Unprecedented rainfall and flooding caused several major landslips and extensive road damage. The area is expected to experience traffic restrictions for many months while geotechnical assessments are made, and repairs are undertaken. Shoalhaven City Council’s Natural Disaster Roads Project Office is coordinating the repair of local roads in Kangaroo Valley and the wider Shoalhaven area.
Emergency and Community Services were advised of all road damages and closures as they occurred throughout the 2022 March East Coast Low. Further information can be found here.
If you have been affected by the March 2022 floods, there are a range of assistance measures available to support. Council's Flood Recovery Shoalhaven page is here to support our community, visit the Get Involved Page for more information.
Some major roads in the Shoalhaven are managed by Transport for NSW. Transport for NSW is currently carrying out natural disaster recovery work on Moss Vale Road at Cambewarra Mountain and Barrengarry Mountain. For updates on this repair work, visit the Transport for NSW website.
