Following the opening of the Kings Highway, crews have worked to see Nerriga Road re-opened today at 10am. Nerriga Road runs from Braidwood to Nowra and has been closed recently because of fires around Nerriga, Tianjara and beyond.
Crews have been working tirelessly to make the road safe following the fires. They’ve felled and removed a large number of dangerous trees and conducted inspections of the road, ready for it to reopen.
Nerriga Road will reopen at 10am on Wednesday 15 January 2020. Parts of the road will remain under traffic control while we continue the clean-up, repair guardrails and replace guide posts. Several roads that connect to Nerriga Road, including Charleys Forrest Road, Tomboye Road and more, remain accessible to local traffic only as we continue inspections and clean-up on those roads.
Turpentine Road will also be re-opening at 10am with a 60km speed limit in place. Staff will still be along the road verge clearing trees, we would like to thank drivers for their patience and to drive to the conditions.
