Following consultation that was undertaken as part of the Integrated Strategic Plan, Council has resolved to keep subsidising family day care services for the Shoalhaven.
Mayor Findley said, “Council provides an excellent family day care service for the community, which supports many families in the region.”
“Following consultation with the residents it has been decided that we will continue to support and subsidise this facility.”
“The Council service is reliant on federal funding which will be removed from July 2018 and we will continue to lobby for this funding to remain in place into the future.”
“Staff will also be working hard to meet performance targets to continue to improve the services provided and reduce overall costs to Council.”
“A report will be provided back to Council in April 2018 when we have more information about the status of the federal funding and will be able to consider whether Council continues subsidising this service into the future.”
