Shoalhaven City Council is advising that the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage has now opened two Heritage Near Me grant funding opportunities, for two grant streams:
- Local Heritage Strategic Projects program grants; and
- Heritage Activation Grant Program.
The Local Heritage Strategic Projects program provides opportunities for local communities to collaborate on projects that conserve and rejuvenate local heritage places for projects that protect, share and celebrate heritage spaces with initiatives that focus on management and activation in communities. Local communities are encouraged to identify their own priorities under four broad categories:
Conservation and restoration,
Raising community awareness,
Innovation in heritage management, and
Broaden understanding of heritage values.
Successful applicants under the Local Heritage Strategic Projects Program will be provided with specialist support and advice from the Heritage Near Me Roadshow team. Applications for the Local Heritage Strategic Projects are open year round, subject to available funding.
The Heritage Activation Grant funding is open to owners and managers of local heritage items listed in Council’s Local Environmental Plan to increase public enjoyment of local heritage, such as physical works for better public access, public programming, strategy development and business planning. Grant applications for the Heritage Activation program close on Monday 21 April.
All eligible individuals or groups are encouraged to apply. For further information and to apply, please visit the Heritage Near Me Incentives program website at: http://www.environment.nsw.gov.au/Heritage/heritage-near-me-incentives.htm
