First sod turned on Shoalhaven Indoor Sports Centre
Shoalhaven City Council has turned the first sod on the Shoalhaven Indoor Sports Stadium project.   Council is funding the project with an investment of over $13.6 million.   The stadium will be built next to the existing Bomaderry Basketball Stadium and will complement the adjacent sporting precinct.   The stadium has been designed to cater for sports such as Basketball, Volleyball, Futsal, Netball and Badminton. Shoalhaven City Council is incredibly disappointed with the loss of the historic Nowra Sailing Club following a fire which destroyed the building on the evening of Wednesday, 21 June 2017. Council appreciates the efforts of NSW Fire and Rescue crews in containing the fire and preventing damage to the wharf. Pools to Remain Open Year Round

Council adopts Special Rate Variation of 13.2% for 1 year
Shoalhaven City Council has adopted the special rate variation of 13.2% including the rate peg for the 2017/18 financial year.   Following approval from the Independent Pricing and Regularly Tribunal for the rate increase, Council has now adopted implementation of the rate increase.   This decision means that 67% of ratepayers will pay less than $150 per annum increase in their rates. Shoalhaven City Council will be hosting the Household Chemical CleanOut in Ulladulla and Nowra this weekend, 17-18 June 2017. Plantation Point Exercise Equipment Officially Opened
